When I come up against an uncomfortable situation, one that requires some backbone, an ability to set good boundaries, I often ask myself, “What would Walt do?”
Because, honest to God, this man has taught me a lot.
He’s pretty unflappable when it comes to handling major confrontation, defining his boundaries in no uncertain terms with some tough customers (like his 82-year-old, crippled mother). It’s fascinating, when the smoke finally clears, to understand how his mind works.
One of these days I’m going to start an interview series called WWWD.
You got boundary issues now; you won’t by the time Walt’s through with you.
In the mean time, there’s always his book: Journey’s on the Edge: Living a Life that Matters.
If you look at the cover, you’d assume it’s a book about mountain climbing, but it’s really about creating the life you deserve. And that has ONE HELL OF A LOT TO DO WITH DRAWING BOUNDARIES with people who would eat your liver for lunch.
Anyway, if you can’t wait for me to get off my duff and begin filming, here’s a link to said resource:
