The thing about being a writer is that I tend to associate with a lot of other writers. Writers who publish books as often as they change their underwear.
Besides my writing buddies, and my students, and my coaching clients, people who talk about books and writing and words all the live long day (much to my joy), I’ve also got, like, a gazillion writer “Friends” on my Facebook page. Heavy hitters who occupy all those coveted spots on the New York Times Best Sellers list. Who stand around having their pictures taken with Reese Witherspoon and shit, because their stories have been turned into films.
Writers not like me.
All that being said, I had the audacity to go and publish this book about writing books, even in the face of all of this pageantry.
I’ve put in all of the tools and tips I know to keep one’s ass in the chair long enough to finish a book. I’ve put in everything I know about being real, about facing down fear, about being brave enough to say what you really think and feel. Because that’s the stuff that totally opened my life up, honesty. That allowed me to first understand myself, then become a leader.
Have you always wanted to write a book but don’t know how to start? Have you tried to write a book before, but gave up when the going got rough? Well, then this book is for you.
