Fear of France

I get to interview some pretty terrific women for my series, Starting Over.  Thought you might like a little taste.  This is Sarah Levitt, and she’s pretty damn terrific.  Here’s to you walking away with something you can use to recharge your own life. (you can access the interview in the “post” below.)

After simultaneously becoming unmoored from her business, marriage, and home, Sarah Levitt decided she needed to take matters into her own hand. She turned over every stone looking for what she needed. Finding it didn’t exist, she created her support group. A powerful group who helped her cope with the grief of divorce.

A hard-working, over-achiever, Sarah had to learn that it’s ok to rest from the drive sometimes. Because it’s only in those soft moments that you can hear what you want. The trick, she claims, is to listen without judging the answers, to follow your wants with very small steps. And to forget what everybody else thinks. Oh, and just like me, she found a big chunk of her magnificent self through running. FYI.

In our audio interview, Sarah describes:

• The most powerful question you can ask yourself
• How fear helps you identify your blind spots
• Why you should go to France even if you can’t speak French
• What happens when you finish your “I can’t” sentences with the word “yet”

We also talked about running, of course. And my favorite Life Coach out there: Martha Beck. And identifying the disappointments in life, the ones the good things sprang from. We talked about her health scare, which woke her the hell up. You know, all those good things you wish your friends would rattle on about.
