Excuse #1: There’s too much work required to write a book

Oh, I’d say I hear this excuse for not writing a book once a day.  Mostly from people who actually WANT to have a book to their name at this point in their career. If I’m out in public and talking about what I do for a living, I’ll hear it at least twice.

Which is why I thought I should clear up some misconceptions. This coming from someone who despises the whole write-a-book-in-a-weekend trope. Ick!
