Writing
It’s been one of those weeks
September 17, 2018
It’s been one of those weeks. And by one of those weeks, I mean, the kind of week that makes you want to dance like a fool, throw back a few green smoothies, crow from the rooftop, whatever one does to celebrate. Because a number of wonderful projects have seemingly come to fruition all at once.
Take Vicki Suiter‘s upcoming publication (October 17th), The Profit Bleed: How Managing Margin Can Save Your Contracting Business.
We spent about six months writing this fabulous business parable and another six months editing, designing, and publishing the book through Summit Press Publishers. We encountered every obstacle known to man, just like Vicki’s clients do, and eventually got around them. The result, a near perfect book. And a huge smile on each of our faces.
Stay tuned for a pre-launch offer, where you can buy Vicki’s book and get a whole bunch of cool stuff, all before the official publication date.
Michelle Cully‘s book, High Heels In The Laundry Room, now has an official publication date of October 9th (Page Two). I have yet to see the cover art, but I bet it’s fantastic. A lot of hush-hush stuff leading up to the big unveiling.
When I was presented with the opportunity to doctor Michelle’s book, I jumped on it. Michelle is this high-powered chick who owns a courier company in the metro-Boston area. If you saw her, you’d laugh, because she looks more like a pint-sized model than a trucking magnet, which is what she is. Michelle had this amazing story about breaking free of a youthful, all-consuming, abusive relationship; about starting her own business out of her parents’ laundry room because she didn’t know what else to do with herself.
Want to know how to build a business when you don’t know what the hell you’re doing, when you’re not sure you believe in yourself, well, you’ll want to buy the book the second it’s out. October 9th is just around the corner.
Remembering that good things come in threes, superstar fitness guru, Oonagh Duncan just scored, not one, but two commercial deals for her book Healthy as F*ck. The first one for Canada(Penguin), the second for the US/UK/Australia market (Sourcebooks). P.S. This is a pretty big deal. Lots of writers would kill for this opportunity.
Well, I love what she had to say about me during her big announcement:
“If you need me, I’ll be worshipping at the feet of Ann Sheybani who was the best writing coach in the world and put a fire under my ass to get my proposal done and make it not suck.”
That’s precisely what I like hearing. Three cheers for Oonagh. Three cheers for them all.
